The Contender

If you find yourself being challenged or going through a tough time. Don't lose heart! Maybe you find yourself unjustly accused or feel as if you're on trial for something you did in the past. Take Courage! The Lord knows and He will come through for you. Jesus will plead your case in the courtroom of heaven. You see, even though Satan is our accuser, Jesus is our CONTENDER! He is your lawyer, your defender and your champion! PSALMS 35:1-10 1 Plead my cause, O LORD, with those who strive with me; Fight against those who fight against me.

2 Take hold of shield and buckler, And stand up for my help.

3 Also draw out the spear, And stop those who pursue me. Say to my soul, “I am your salvation.”

4 Let those be put to shame and brought to dishonor Who seek after my life; Let those be turned back and brought to confusion who plot my hurt.

5 Let them be like chaff before the wind, And let the angel of the LORD chase them.

6 Let their way be dark and slippery, And let the angel of the LORD pursue them.10 All my bones shall say, “LORD, who is like You, Delivering the poor from him who is too strong for him, Yes, the poor and the needy from him who plunders him?”

7 For without cause they have hidden their net for me in a pit, Which they have dug without cause for my life.

8 Let destruction come upon him unexpectedly, And let his net that he has hidden catch himself; Into that very destruction let him fall.

9 And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD; It shall rejoice in His salvation.

My God! This should encourage and strengthen your spirit! You are His prize possession! When you accepted Christ as your savior, He cleansed you and saved you! He stood in your place, and took the guilty verdict for you! No matter what your past was, you stand guiltless before God because of the blood of Jesus. He paid the price and He'll defend you for His own namesake. He gave everything, so you could live life abundantly!

THE WORD is a WEAPON

As believers, we know Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, and gave us HIS authority on the earth AS OUR OWN. It's time to rise up and take what was bought for you, aggressively! Stop being passive against the enemy, and start fighting! Start demanding your inheritance, your health, your supernatural favor, your finances, your freedom from sin, and what ever else it may be!

Many of you are standing on the sidelines, wimpy and defeated, waiting for God to do something. I've got news for you, He's waiting on YOU to take action! That's right. You are the one who needs to take action. He's already done His part! He not only gave us AUTHORITY over the enemy, but He's given us the most powerful weapon in heaven and on earth - His Word!

PICK IT UP! START USING IT! SPEAK IT OUT LOUD! DECLARE IT! DECREE IT! START FIGHTING!

When you begin declaring God's Word over your life, the Angels are positioned and ready to go to work on your behalf! When you speak Gods Word, in faith, it empowers you AND it empowers the Angels to accomplish His word. You have nothing to fear and everything to gain. Jesus already paid the ultimate price and won the victory. We have to make a CHOICE to go out and take it for ourselves! Speak God's Word into any given situation, and things will change!

NEHEMIAH 4:13-15 13 Therefore I positioned men behind the lower parts of the wall, at the openings; and I set the people according to their families, with their swords, their spears, and their bows.

14 And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, “Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses.

15 And it happened, when our enemies heard that it was known to us, and that God had brought their plot to nothing, that all of us returned to the wall, everyone to his work.

ISAIAH 49:25 25 But thus says the LORD: “Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, And the prey of the terrible be delivered; For I will contend with him who contends with you, And I will save your children.

About a month ago, I spoke about Jesus being our Huckleberry, meaning he would step in and defeat an enemy that was too strong for us. He promised that He would go before us as our CONTENDER and win the battle. Jesus always go before us, fighting on our behalf, but we cannot sit around and do nothing. WE MUST TAKE ACTION!

PRAY! SEEK HIS FACE ! STAND ON THE WORD!

PRAYER Father, I thank you that Jesus is my CONTENDER! Thank you Jesus for standing in my place and taking my guilty verdict as Your own! Thank you for freedom! Stir within me the tenacity to use your word as a weapon to defeat the enemy! Ignite Your people to action! Awaken the Warrior inside them to fight and move forward, with the Holy Spirit into victory!

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth! Our defender, deliverer, and Savior! Amen
