Living In The Favor Of God

The favor of God will rest in your life, if you are willing to receive it.

His word says that you will have favor with both God and man.

It's time to believe it and start living it!

PROVERBS 8:35 "For he who finds ME finds life And obtains FAVOR from the LORD.

First and foremost, YOU ARE GODS CHILD.

The Bible says that God knew you before He formed you in your mother's womb. He loved you first. He created you like no one else! Every quirky personality trait, your eye color, your laugh - God made them specific to you. What a promise we have that He is not only our creator, but our Father that loves us!

LUKE 2:52 And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in FAVOR with God and men.

Second, CHRIST IS IN YOU.

The same Christ that was raised from the dead resides within those of us who accept him as our Lord and Savior. Because He lives within us, that means that the same favor of God that was upon His life in in US! It's time for us to receive God's favor and expect it! We are God's children and joint heirs with Christ. That means that we have the same authority and favor that Jesus did! Isn't that awesome?

PSALMS 5:12 12 For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.

Third, YOU HAVE BLESSINGS, FAVOR AND PROTECTION FROM GOD.

When we accept Jesus as our Savior and begin to walk uprightly, that opens up our life to so many new and wonderful things. We are meant to live abundant lives. That means that wherever we go and whatever we do, the blessings, favor and protection of God are surely to follow.

PROVERBS 3:3-4 3 Let NOT mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, 4 And so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.

Fourth, YOU HAVE FAVOR WITH MAN.

Because we have received favor and blessings from the Father, that will carry over into our every day life as well. We know that it's by God's great mercy that we are able to see and walk in the truth. With that freedom, He tells us to keep the promise of His favor and His Word near to our hearts. As we do that, we can expect favor and good things wherever we go. As a result, our actions should be full of generosity and love. As disciples, it should be our joy to share with others what God has done for us. Giving of our time, talents and treasures to other people should be a way of life.

FAVOR IN TIMES OF PERIL

These two examples in scriptures show men who, in the face of disaster and horrible situation, still had the favor of God on their lives. God blessed and prospered them in the middle of everything that was going on around them.

NOAH

GENESIS 6:5-8

5 The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.

6 The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.

7 So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.

8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.

9 [Noah] was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.

Noah was facing the extinction of all living things, except for his family and the animals on the ark. God saw fit that Noah and his family would be the ones to carry on the human race because he was righteous and faithful to God.

JOSEPH

GENESIS 39:2-5

2 The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master.

3 When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did,

4 Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.

5 From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the Lord was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field. But the LORD was with Joseph and extended kindness to him, and gave him favor in the sight of the chief jailer.

GENESIS 41: 41-43

41 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt.”

42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his finger and put it on Joseph’s finger. He dressed him in robes of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.

43 He had him ride in a chariot as his second-in-command,[b] and people shouted before him, “Make way[c]!” Thus he put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt.

As a child, Joseph was sold into slavery by his own brothers, and then later was thrown into jail by a false accusation. But in every situation God gave him favor and prosperity. Eventually, God have him so much favor with Pharaoh that he made him the second highest ruler in all of Egypt. If you haven't read the story of Joseph, I encourage you to do so! It's a great example of God's favor, even when things don't seem to make sense.
