Faith Explosion: Why Confessing God's Word Is Powerful

Each week, I write positive confessions to build myself and others up in faith. We can use positive confessions to grow our faith and knowledge in the Word. My hope is that through these confessions God will build a Faith Explosion in you!

This week's devotional will cover why it's so important to proclaim God's word over yourself, and why it's such an effective tool in your walk with Jesus.

Let's examine 1 JOHN 5:1-5:

1 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.

(In other words, when we confess that we believe that Jesus is the Christ and that we love him, we are also confessing that we love God and our Father.)

2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.

(When you truly begin to love Jesus and the Father, the love you receive from them will begin to overflow out of you with love for others, especially children of God. The fruit of this is an obedient heart. When we are able to receive the Father's love, we genuinely want to obey his commands.)

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.

(When we understand God's love for us, we want to keep his commandments because we understand they are for our good because God is always for us and our well being.)

4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

(Who ever confesses and believes in the Lord Jesus is born of God and NOW HAS THE POWER TO OVERCOME THE WORLD. IN JESUS IS OUR VICTORY TO OVERCOME, IT IS OUR FAITH IN HIM AND HIS WORDS!)

5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

(ALL THOSE WHO BELIEVE )

CONFESSING GOD'S WORD

When you continually meditate on scripture, and confess God's positive words over yourself, it will become your reality.

Your belief grows, your faith grows, you become stronger and you will overcome trials in your life more and more.

Reasons Confessing God's Word Is Effective:

1. You begin to believe God at His Word.

2. You begin to trust that the Word is working on your behalf.

3. You begin to have clarity and understand of the Word.

4. You begin to change the atmosphere. As your faith grows, it will frustrate and confuse any plans of the enemy.

5. You begin to give power to the warring Angels around you. They are positioned to help us, so use them!

6. You begin to understand that God's word is ALIVE! Its creative power has never stopped working and never will!

7. You begin to understand that, as God's child, you become CHRIST in the earth. Therefore, your words are powerful!

8. You begin to take God's word LITERALLY - not just words a page.

9. You accept God's word as personally relatable to your everyday life.

10. You begin to use God's Word wisely and effectively.

WE ARE CHRIST ON EARTH

Many of you may be wondering, "how can you say we are CHRIST on the earth?" Clearly, we do not live perfect lives and many of us will never perform miracles or develop a mass following. As the body of Christ, however, he have an identity problem. Most of us have heard that we are to be Christ's representative, but the church as a whole has lost their understanding of WHOSE they are. When we understand who we belong to, then we begin to have a better understanding of WHO we are, and the authority we hold. We are the chosen children of the Lord most high. We are joint heirs with Christ, and he tells us that we will do great and mighty things through his power. We have to understand that we are set apart, made in the image of God almighty, and we are meant to rule and reign in this life! Because Christ lives in us, we are Christ in the world.

The following scriptures explain in more detail how we are Christ in the earth:

JOHN 14:20

20 At that day YOU WILL KNOW that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

GALATIONS 2:20

20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

COLOSSIANS 1:27

27 To them God WILLED TO MAKE KNOWN what are the RICHES of the GLORY OF (THIS MYSTERY) among the Gentiles: WHICH IS CHRIST IN YOU, the hope of glory.

JOHN 14:1212 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

When Jesus said greater things than these will you do these because I go to the Father, he meant it.

1. He was only one man, THE SON OF GOD

2. We are (MILLIONS) SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF GOD

Because of this, we have been given the authority and power to go out into the world and change the atmosphere. Take back what the enemy has stolen and change our culture. We are not meant to be quiet little church mice, but bold prayer warriors who understand that the Kingdom is ours!

JOHN 14:2626 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Without Jesus physically being here, he sent the helper (the Holy Spirit). He is our guide and the source of our power is the Bible. As we read the word, and confess it boldly over ourselves we begin to function as Christ in our daily lives. That should cause a faith explosion in you!

PRAYER

Father, I ask you for a faith explosion in my life. Let Your word become so ingrained and so alive in me, that I have no doubt whatsoever that it is true and righteous. Teach me to use Your words wisely. Let them flow out of me like water from a fountain giving life to myself and others. I thank you for the victory to overcome the evil one by my belief in Jesus. I thank you that my faith and love for You and my trust in Your word is growing each day!
